Disney Cruise Number 6: Gold

For spring break I got the chance to go on our 6th disney cruise with my family. This cruise was a five day one and contained two spots that we would be getting off at. Because it was our sixth cruise we got to be gold. There were very few benifits to being gold and a lot of things that felt the same as being silver. Today, I am going to be talking about having the gold lanyerd.

The first thing that I noticed when we got onto the ship was the difference in the way people treated us. It was sort of weird at first because they treated us like we knew everything about the ship. We got less explanations about the ship from our waiters and people in general taught us differently. This is considered a good thing because we didn't have to listen to the same conversations about the ship over and over again.

Next, at the shops we got a ten percent discount on all merchandice and food. There are a few exceptions where you can not get a discount like Previews by the Walt Disney theatre. I found a way how to get discounts on the popcorn while I was on the cruise. If you are gold and by popcorn from the Micky's Mates shop they will give you a ten percent discount on it instead of paying full price plus tip at Previews.

Now I am going to be talking about some things that felt the exact same whether I was gold or silver. When you enter your cabin if you have gone on just one cruise you get a bag that welcomes you on the disney cruise. Basically, everyone gets the same bag no matter if you are gold, silver or even platnum! It makes it pretty confusing around the ship if everyone is carrying around the same bag.

Lastly, we had to wait in the same lines as people in silver. It doesn't really sound like a problem but, if you are waiting in the same line as all of the people who have been on 2-5 cruises, it is a long wait and definetly not fun one.

On this trip I have learned that weather you are silver, gold, or platnum, you basically get the same perks. It is still always fun to be promoted to the next lanyerd level and gain a new color.

I hope this blog gave you an idea about the gold lanyered and how it can be exciting to wear the gold lanyered around your neck, but not so exciting when it comes to basically everything else. Next week I will be about the two stops that we made while we were on the disney cruise so tune in next week. Thanks for reading my blog and look forward to seeing you in my next blog!

Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is one place you need to stop by in Europe. It is one of the most amazing places I have been in my life. We stayed there for four days and had an amazing time. There are many famous buildings made by Ghaudi in Barcelona including The Sagrada Familia. I am going to talk about today what we did in Barcelona, what we ate, and what we saw so sit back and enjoy the ride!

On the first day we were in Barcelona we went on a tour bus system. It took us all around the city of Barcelona, Spain. The bus was called the Hop on Hop Off Bus. The bus had many different stops that you could get off at or stay on the bus. If you found a place you wanted to check out you just get off at that stop and wait for the next one to come and pick you up at. We did this a numerous amount of times. The bus route takes you to the famous parts of Barcelona, Spain like, Ghoudi's house, The Segrada Familia, and The Copper Fish.

On the second day we went to a shopping street right behind our hotel, The Four Points.  We walked down it and ate at a few places. One place was a bakery. It had one of the best muffins I have ever tasted! Another place had amazing pasta and soup. My mom even got a giant jug of sangria for the price of one glass in the U.S. Another restaurant that we went to was a tapa restaurant. We ate so many dishes there, but the only issue we had was that the service of drinks were really slow.

While we were in Barcelona we got to see some structures. One of the more famous structures we saw was the Segrada Familia. It has been in construction for 131 years. On one side of the building it depicts Jesus as being born while the other shows him dying. The side of Jesus's birth is the side that Ghoudi originally started to build. The side of Jesus's death is the side that is being built today. It is one of the largest structures you will see in Barcelona. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Spain today. The Sagrada Familia actually holds church sessions every several months.

I hope you learned something about Barcelona, Spain. If you have any questions about Barcelona comment below and I can get back to you when I can! Thanks so much for reading and have safe travels where ever you go!

Red Mountain Resort

Last weekend, I visited  Red Mountain Resort in Ivins, Utah. Just my Mom and I went on this trip. We did yoga classes, boot camps, biking, and canyoneering. Today, I am going to share with you my experience at Red Mountain Resort and why you should book a room today.

I stayed at Red Mountain for three nights. I would not recommend staying less than that because you won't get the full experience. The food, most of the fitness classes, and the daily guided hikes are included in your room fee.

The first class I attended was called, "Melt Hand and Foot".  In this class, everyone received 3 small balls that were not bigger than a fist.  We learned how to use each ball to roll stress out of our hands and feet. If you are feeling stiff in any part of your body, I recommend the Melt classes. In the photo below, you can see the balls we used in "Melt Hand and Foot." The price of this package is $50.00, so I recommend taking the class.

While at Red Mountain, I also tried the TRX Boot Camp. If you are wondering what TRX is, let me tell you! TRX stands for Total Body Resistance. Two elastic bands secured to a bar help you build
muscles and shape your body.   I did not like TRX that much in part because my teacher was dull, however, TRX is a good work out.

At Red Mountain, they offer for a fee activity called Canyoneering. The cost is $225 a person, but it is an all day activity from 9:50-4:00. We hiked up a mountain and wedged ourselves into small cracks. We went under and over rocks and got rewarded by repelling down the mountain. You can get a little scrapped up but it's all part of the adventure. Red Mountain sends you off with a healthy sack lunch. The guide gave frequent breaks so we could catch our breath. The guide company we used is called Southern Utah Guiding. If you are going to another part in Southern Utah click here to go to their website for a different canyoneering trip. I highly recommend this activity if you are physically up for it. My mom and I will never forget this activity. Really, it was the most fun I had during my trip.

Finally, I would like to talk about the food. Every portion is controlled. They have a new menu every day so you don't get bored of the same meal. Lunch and dinner come with bread, a salad bar, an entree, and a dessert.  Every night at dinner, there is a choice of fish, steak, chicken, a vegetarian option and an unusual dish like elk or duck. One of my favorite meals was when I had baked chicken and a chocolate lava cake for dessert. The dinner and dessert menus have the number of calories and macronutrients posted next to each item for those people who are watching their diet.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this week's blog. Stay tuned to find out my next week's theme! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
